walls that talk

Taking over Darwin for ten colourful days in October

The 10 day program has been made possible through the Northern Territory Government, with support of the City of Darwin and  Darwin City Waterfront Retailers Association.  A big thank you to the building owners who share our vision and passion for the City,  as it’s through their involvement that the murals will come to life.

Our vision is to inspire and excite the greater Darwin population through public art, while creating a sense of vibrancy throughout Darwin City. We hope to make the DSAF an annual event and build on each years work.

Colourful graffiti and street art is in high demand across towns and cities around the world. Communities crowd to view the fun, creativity and vibrancy street artists and wall art, brings to buildings and surfaces.

Large-scale murals are becoming open-aired galleries where residents of towns and cities flock to watch the interpretations of walls that talk.

Darwin Street Art Festival (DSAF) is a collaboration between local Darwin artist & owner of Mayfair Gallery, David Collins and CBD advocate Mel Brautigam of Savvy Social with support from FestivalsNT.

Darwin Street Art Festival will feature live mural art, music, retail and hospitality activation and children’s art workshops.

We encourage Top End residents to visit our City Centre from 19 October and stop to watch the live art across multiple sites, scattered throughout Darwin City. We hope you visit our local retailers and shop, dine and watch our walls come alive.

Our local artists will strategically be paired with invited national artists to collaborate and share their creative talent to meet our brief and showcase the uniqueness of the Northern Territory, and in particular Darwin.

It’s an exciting time for Darwin City and we thank our partners for trusting us to put the Top End on the map in a positive light via graffiti and street art.
