Ifa is an emerging illustrator, born and bred in Garramilla/Darwin. Specialising in digital art, she has a passion for character design and storytelling. She enjoys exploring the emotional connections between characters. Under the alias "esse", Ifa is known online for her personified characters of the Australian towns, and her characters, Darwin and Palmerston. Much inspired by her own experiences, anime and other media she consumes, Ifa wishes to capture the magic in the mundane of Australian culture. In 2022, Ifa held her first solo exhibition, "Into the Top End", through the NXT Gen ARTS grant and is the Darwin winner for 2023 ABC Heywire. She has been involved with LAUNCH Darwin in a number of events and programs over the past years. Ifa will be the key artist in a fun installation in the Darwin city for DSAF24.
